Hospital Targets Narrowly Missed

Macclesfield Hospital narrowly missed its targets for MRSA cases and the waiting times at the hospital, yet improvements are still evident.

Macclesfield hospital is only 0.3% outside the 98% target for an accident and emergency 4 hour turnaround. Furthermore, this figure was considered a standard, rather than a target, and one the hospital was very close to meeting.

In relation to MRSA, the number of cases has fallen for the 3rd year running. There was a high of 21 in 2006, 15 last year and 14 within the year just passed. (March 2007 - February 2008).

What is important is that the positives are illustrated. Yes, the hospital did miss the targets, but it was exceedingly close with its waiting times and the falling MRSA figures seem a positive improvement that can only get better.
