From 2009, New Cheshire East Unitary Council Will Be Taking Over.

Cheshire East will be covering the areas of the existing Boroughs of Macclesfield, Congleton, Crewe and Nantwich and will be elected on Thursday 1st May 2008.
The new council will be providing services that are currently provided by the Boroughs and Cheshire County, which - from April 2009 - will cease to exist. The new councillers will be elected in May, and they will then plan and establish the new council, Cheshire East, and take control of all the services in April 2009.
