Drugs Warrants

A series of search warrants were carried out across the Macclesfield Neighbourhood Policing Unit area on 4 February 2008.

150 police officers from across Cheshire and Merseyside were involved in this  initiative which was codenamed Operation Design. A total of 18 search warrants were conducted, 15 in the Macclesfield area and 3 in Merseyside. All 18 search warrants related specifically to the supply and misuse of Class A Drugs.  

At the time of writing a total of 15 arrests had been made and the 13 males and 2 females arrested were held at the Eastern Area Custody Facility in Middlewich. 

The morning’s activity was the result of information that had been passed to us by the local community over the past 12 months and beyond. Those local residents who assisted us in this way should be very proud of the part that they played in this operation as the morning's action would have been  impossible to take without it.
