This year's British Urban Regeneration Association Awards gives a Commendation to the new Bugsworth Basin Interpretation Scheme.
The project, which was delivered with support from British Waterways and PLB Projects of Malton, was Commended in the Education and Learning Class. The Commendation reads:
'Bugsworth Canal Basin, situated at the head of the Peak Forest Canal was the largest and busiest inland port on Britain's canal system. Following its restoration, a detailed Interpretative Plan was commissioned to bring to life the fascinating story of the basin and its historic importance. The panels have been designed to link to other materials and resources at the Basin and the judges noted that they were particularly well designed, presenting information in a fun way and provided an opportunity to learn a tremendous amount about this historic site.'
