Poynton Nomads    2      Club AZ   5

Club AZ were simply too strong for Nomads as they powered their way to victory at Bollington Rec. The catalyst for the visitors was a virtuoso performance from midfielder and man of the match Craig Scott who scored a hat-trick .
Club AZ's Barney Cutbill closely shadowed by Nomad's Josh Bates
Nomads had their backs to the wall straight from the off and relied on the counter attack. Dan Allman had a strong game at the heart of the Nomads defence as did Arron Loftus at right back but they couldn’t hold out against persistent raids down the left from Omar Lampty  and Scott through the middle. Two goals from Scott in the fifteen minutes before the break gave AZ a comfortable enough cushion by half time but it could have been more with stand in keeper Alex Hibbert keeping the score down.

Complacency crept in early in the second half as Nomads threatened to get back in the game , an innocuous free kick just inside their own half  was hoisted into the AZ penalty area and a mix up saw Barney Cutbill but through his own net to make it 2-1. It was two goals in six minutes that eventually saw off the home side as Chris Naylor twice nipped in to punish mistakes in the Nomads defence to score from close range.
Craig Scott was in inspired form for Club AZ
His first on fifty nine minutes following great play down the left wing from John Whitehead. Alan Hay made it 4-2 as AZ tired but a fitting end came with four minutes remaining when Craig Scott completed his hat-trick.

Poynton Kings    1       Boarhound     3

The leaders remain six points clear after defeating Poynton Kings at Woodford Rec. With a somewhat depleted squad Boarhound took the lead in the first half with a spectacular effort from Dan Frost who took a Dave Barratt cross first time and crashed the ball  into the net, but Kings were soon level, Alistair Breed converting a penalty conceded by Matty Roberts. Boarhound proved what a difficult side they are to beat as they scored two more in the second half with Jamie Collins and Andy Foote both on target.

Old Alts    2     Mary Dendy    4

Dendy’s fine season continued with another victory on the road , this time at Crossford Bridge. The home side led 1-0  at half time  which forced Dendy manager Paul Cronshaw  into making changes. It seemed to pay off as first leading scorer Matty Morris then Martin Brunker put the visitors 2-1 ahead. Minutes later the scores were level again following a stunning strike from David Howard from fully  25 yards which flew into the net. Super sub Simon Nicholson came on to made it 3-2  and Leon White another substitute  made the game safe with his only touch in the game.

High Lane   1    Wilmslow Sports     4

Wilmslow proved too strong for High Lane scoring twice in each half to see off a disappointing High Lane . Rob Graydon did find the net in the second half heading home from two yards  but it was mere consolation as they already trailed Wilmslow 4-0 . On the plus side this win sees Wilmslow climb to third in the table  a place behind Mary Dendy who they meet next weekend in what could prove to be a crucial game . On target for the visitors were Steve Dootson with two, Jon O’Brian and Chris Nevin.

Juno Utd     2     Old Alts Youth    1

A welcome return to action for Juno and a welcome three points !  New signing Richard Elliot opened the scoring breaking the offside trap and coolly slotting the ball home , Sam Woodward doubled Juno’s lead just before the break  to give the home side a two goal advantage . Old Alts Youth continued to press in the second half  and were rewarded when Tom Masey converted a penalty but Juno rode their luck to steal the points.

Poynton    3   Inter Macc  4

Inter Macc eventually saw off Poynton but it wasn’t until the second half that they really felt secure Twice the visitors took the lead  and twice Poynton fought back Chris Oakes made it 1-1   and then Ewen MacKinnen converted a penalty to make it 2-2.  But Inter Macc are a resilient side and took the lead for a third time before half time . At 4-2 in the second half the points were secure but there was still time for more drama as Andy Wiles was fouled in the area and MacKinnen despatched his second spot kick of the game.  Scorers for  Inter Macc , Jake McGarry, Joe MacDonald, Ray Warburton and Joe Brennan.
