Staff from Park Lane School cemented their managerial skills recently by successfully completing an Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Award in ‘First Line Management’ through East Cheshire Business School at Macclesfield College.
Christine Little, Andree Barnard, Sara Axon, Katy Harrold and Emma Shaw spent 13 weeks studying for their Level 3 qualification and were all pleased to be presented with their official certificates at a celebratory lunch in the College’s Silk Room Restaurant.

Christine Little, Assistant Head at the School said, ‘The course proved invaluable in applying the knowledge I have gained whilst working, and gaining the paper qualification is definitely something I am very proud of. ’
This course was delivered for one afternoon a week, to fit in with the commitments and timetables of the Park Lane School staff. However training programmes for businesses can be tailored to each employer and run as residentials, workshops or in week-long blocks.
Course tutor Chantelle Wagg said, ‘The staff from Park Lane School have really gained a lot from this qualification, especially as all the concepts and theories studied were related back to their workplace and their project centred around efficiency improvements the school could make.’
