Last season’s runners-up Congleton Vale are comfortably through to Round Two of this season’s competition after  defeating Old Alts Youth. A second half hat-trick from Matt Swift saw them through after they led 2-0 at half time thanks to goals from Jake Moss and Andy Barker.

Also through go Congleton Athletic after they beat Poynton’s ECL side 3-1 at Back Lane. It was far from straight forward for the home team  though as they survived a disallowed goal and a missed penalty.  James Hewitt scored twice and Jack Higginbotham a third for Athletic with Andy Buckley on target for the visitors .

Wilmslow Sports made short work of Congleton Town’s reserve team winning 4-0 away from home . Bobby Fletcher scored a hat-trick with Mike Cain adding a fourth from the penalty spot.
