Boarhound  5    High Lane     2

It’s five out of five in the league now for Boarhound  as they retain their unbeaten start to the season.

Ian Potts opened the scoring  with Dec Fletcher grabbing  two more before half time with the hosts 3-1 up. Ryan Stewart and a penalty converted by Wayne Shufflebotham made it five in the second half. Goal scorers for High Lane were Dave Wilde and the irrepressible Jake Getchevsky.

Poynton   2       Juno United  3

Poynton were kicking themselves they came away with nothing from this game because despite six enforced changes they led Juno 2-0. Kieron Foulkes gave the home side the lead after only five minutes when he volleyed home from eight yards. Sam Brady  doubled their lead on fifteen minutes as he headed home low into the net but ten minutes before half time Juno grabbed a lifeline when Sam Dewil found  Darren Wilson and he leapt unchallenged to make it 2-1. Greg Hayward  equalised in the second half  as Juno pressed  and whenman of the match  Drew Lee was fouled in the area after a mazy dribble the referee awarded a penalty. Up stepped Darren Wilson to give the visitors the lead but his spot kick was brilliantly saved by Poynton’s keeper Tom Nixon. Wilson  has the final say though , as with the game seemingly heading for a draw he hit the winner with three minutes remaining  to ake Juno up to joint second  in the table.

Wilmslow Sports    8     Old Alts     0

Wilmslow were ruthless in front of goal as they hit eight past Old Alts  at Upcast Lane . After an early season hiccup in this form  they are most definitely  back on track to challenge for the title . John O’Brian and Sam Bowers both scored hat-tricks with Howard Kirk and Dave Kendrick all on target.( see pic below)

Inter Macc   6     Mary  Dendy    1

A fine team performance saw Inter Macc sink Mary Dendy with something to spare. Ray Warburton opened the scoring on the half hour tapping home into an empty net  and five minutes later Inter Macc’s captain  Will Perry scored the goal of the game volleying home with the ball floated over Dendy’s defence and goalkeeper Paul Cronshaw stuck on his line . There was still time for centre half  Joe Brennan to make it 3-0 right on half time as he headed home from a corner.

Dendy seemed strangely out of sorts with themselves and  gave the ball away cheaply as Inter continued to dominate. Fourty three year old Steve Turner on as a substitute added a fourth ten minutes into the second half   before right back Elliot Bruce poked home number five following a scamble in the Dendy penalty area. The visitors tried in vain to make any impact on the home defence although Mark Beresford in goal for Inter did concede in the fourth minute of stoppage time  , as Matty Morris bundled the ball home. It mattered little  however  as in between  Joe Brennan had scored his second and Inter’s sixth with a powerful header . Left back Ryan Owen was awarded  man of the match by Inter's manager Damien Druce .

Old Alts Youth       2          Club AZ       4

At last !   Club AZ’s  manager Matt Finnerty was a relieved man as the side he is  currently rebuilding  , posted their first victory of the season at Crossford Bridge after four straight defeats.  There is still plenty to do though as they nearly let slip a three goal advantage built up in the first half thanks to Alex Donaldson , Dave Hancox and a Rick Mottershead penalty. A Paul Bethal strike in the second half finally secured the win  following a brace from Old Alt’s  Kieran Joyce. The win takes AZ off the bottom up to 10th place.

Poynton Kings    2     Poynton Nomads    4

Nomads made it three wins on the bounce in all competitions to ensure victory against  rivals Kings at Woodford Recreation ground. Andy Wright and Nick Griffiths were both  on target for the home team whilst  Andy Kershaw , Tom Gaskell, Josh Bates and Dan Hunter ensured all three points for the visitors.
