Blueberry leapfrogged Macc Boys Juniors to the top of the table to leave Sporting languishing at the bottom of the table still without a win in the league. Blueberry led 3-1 at the break and then accelerated away in the second half scoring five more. For the second week in a row goalkeeper Lee Smith scored from the penalty spot and there were further goals from James Slater and Kieran Higgs with two apiece, Peter Eccles, Alex Rottenbury and Jermaine Leveriege .For Sporting , Rick Lovenbury scored twice with a third coming from Steve Bellerby.

 

FC Congleton   5     Tythy Juniors   1

 

FC Congleton cruised to victory at Back Lane against Tythy Juniors who surprisingly go up one place despite the defeat. Ryan Maddock scored twice with Mark Heath, Ali Coutts and Carl Taylor also on target .  Lewis Patterson nicked a consolation for Juniors.

Macc Boys Juniors unbeaten start to the season finally  came to an  end after they were out muscled by Hollins who could have had more. It was a fabulous start though with Scott Meszaros finding the net in the opening minute but it didn’t last long Gaz Burns equalising five minutes later. It was a bright start by both teams with Alex Tomlinson and Callum Loftus looking sharp for Macc Boys and Gaz Burns causing problems down the left wing for Hollins. Indeed it was Burns who grabbed his second on forty minutes charging into the penalty area and firing across keeper Neil Woodward and into the bottom corner of the net.

                With the  teams eager not to lose and guilty of some hefty challenges it came as no surprise when tempers flared just before the break. Referee Andy Atkinson stepping in to caution two players. Hollins had chances to kill the game in the second half but in the end with Macc Boys pressing in  the final minutes they were ultimately relieved to take all three points.

The quickest goal of the day came at Victoria Park when Nags Head conceded a penalty within thirty seconds of the kick off, Neil Wolfenden gratefully tucking the spot kick away. Railway then made it 2-0 before Nags cane back with two goals of their own to make it 2-2. In a great match Railway extended their lead to 4-2 but despite Nags bringing themselves back to 4-3, a fifth for Railway killed the match. In addition to Wolfenden’s penalty there were goals for Ryan Stewart, Mike Harrison, Anthony Connor and Ian Potts. For Nags Head, Andy Wells, Neil Smith and Lee Anderson all found the net. Referee Ian Battersby  drew special praise from both managers for his performance in the middle.

Legion lost out in the Poynton derby after a brace from striker Bobby Cash and further goals from Karl Meredith and Chris Rourke. Ray Bradbury replied for Legion.
