Boarhound took full advantage of a lacklustre Mary Dendy team as they rattled in the goals at Congleton Road. The hosts were 3-0 up inside thirteen minutes as Dendy struggled to make any impression. Dan Frost opened the scoring with an unchallenged tap in after Ian Potts had neatly chipped the ball over the advancing goalkeeper and made it 2-0 four minutes later with a fine strike from the edge of the area . Potts himself made it 3-0 heading home unchallenged from a corner. Dendy began to make chances with the introduction of Ryan Stewart on the half hour mark, Simon Gibbons going close but with their morale visibly waning it was only a matter of time before Boarhound scored again- Jamie Collins duly obliged with fine header from twelve yards from a long free kick from Ryan Fitter. Dendy had a glorious chance to pull a goal back just before the break , Chris Hadfield chased the ball down and then with the goal at his mercy , inexplicably put the ball wide from three yards. It was too much for Simon Gibbons who fell to his knees in despair and was replaced minutes later by youngster Jamie Gibson.

The second half started promisingly for the visitors , Chris Coppenhall twice wasting excellent chances. Ten minutes into the second half the game was over as Boarhound hit a fifth, Wayne Shuffflebotham hooking a shot past Simon Aggersbury. That was his final contribution as he was then replaced by debutant Nathan Hulley who continued to torment a beleaguered Dendy defence. Jamie Collins nodded home number six from two yards and Hulley himself grabbed another two to end a thoroughly miserable day for Dendy but a marvellous one for Maurice Suttons Boarhound side who now go on to face undefeated Wilmslow Sports next week. For Dendy, it’s back to the drawing board.
After two heavy defeats Old Alts claimed their first victory of the season with a welcome win against High Lane. Leading 2-0 at the interval Alts created plenty of chances and never looked like surrendering the points despite missing a penalty, Dave Wild saving well. Mike Long and Takunda Musungwa on the score sheet for the visitors. Jake Getcheffsky scoring for High Lane
The Club AZ juggernaut moved on to Sandringham Road , this time leaving Juno United in their wake with a crushing 11-0 victory. It left a bitter taste in the mouth of Juno’s manger Matt Harwood who felt AZ should be playing at a higher level and not in the ECL where already, after only three games , they appear to be streets ahead. AZ’s manger Dave Tunnicliffe concurred and hoped his team would be presented with more of a challenge by other teams during the season- Wilmslow Sports and Boarhound take note!!
On the field Neil Benny hit five for the visitors, taking his tally to eight for the season and there were further goals for Lee Manion 2, Greg Mathers, Dave Spruce, Craig Sharples and Matt Finnerty.
At Crossford Bridge Old Alts Youth and Poynton Nomads scrapped out a 0-0 draw giving the hosts their first points of the season.
On an adjacent pitch though, last seasons runners up, Old Alts Vets got off to a poor start, losing to Poynton Kings, who look like they will have a roller coaster season once again. Last seasons top scorer for Kings , Luke Murray opened his account for the new season with Adam Ledgar adding a second.
Andy Graham scored for the Vets.
It must be said, games involving Poynton are rarely dull, their three games this season having seen more than thirty goals, this week however they were on the wrong end of the scoring, going down 6-4 to a strong Wilmslow Sports team at Deva Close. With three of the most prolific strikers in the ECL on show the scoreline was hardly surprising. John Cairns hit a hat-trick for the hosts with Scott Bajic adding a fourth. For Wilmslow, Nick Russell and Trevor Wakeling hit two each with further goals coming from Howard Kirk and a spectacular effort from Martin Shardlow.
