Macclesfield is in Tip-Top Shape!

Dec 19, 2006

A national survey has revealed the residents of Macclesfield to be in tip-top shape compared to the rest of the country – the borough has the highest fitness levels in the North-West of the Country, and the second highest levels overall!

The survey was conducted for Sport England, and a whopping 364,500 people took part, making the results seem even more impressive! 29.3% of Macclesfield dwellers take regular exercise according to the survey, making the town fall just slightly behind Richmond upon Thames with 29.8%. According to Sport England ‘regular exercise’ counts as moderate intensity workouts three times a week, though this can include walking and even intensive gardening! Well, every little helps as the saying goes!
