Local Euro MP and Labour Transport Spokesman Brian Simpson is seeking the help of local people in formulating a dossier of complaints against airlines and holiday and travel companies.
“If people have, or have had a bad experience either at the hands of airlines and/or travel companies, I would like to hear from them” said the campaigning Euro MP.
People who suffer or who have suffered severe delays, or denied boarding, or have had their holiday changed, or found their hotel and accommodation substandard should contact Mr Simpson.
“I am trying to convince the European Commission that there is a need to strengthen present regulations in regards to consumer rights, under both the Denied Boarding regulations and the Package Travel Directive. In order to do this, I need as much evidence as I can get so that I can prove that the laws protecting consumers need to be tightened. Whilst I may not be able to help directly, at least I can get a feel of how big this problem is and relay it to the European Commission” concluded Mr Simpson.
People who have had a bad experience can contact Mr Simpson via his constituency office at the address above or by email at: briansimpson.labour@virgin.net.
