Hopefully some of you will remember the original Macctrack situated near the Tesco on the outskirts of Macclesfield.

Sadly this was brought to an end a few years ago after the building caught fire, causing the club to change venue and leaving Macclesfield for nearby Stockport.

The club was firmly routed at its new home for a number of years, regularly drawing in a small crowd, holding meetings on Tuesday and Friday nights and on Sunday afternoons.

Due to its location, it was a long travel for the old Macctrack attendees, not to mention it being awkward to get into, with the track being on the 3rd floor and the lift being somewhat temperamental.

Unfortunately, Phoenix's days became numbered late last year and regretably closed its door's for the final time in November giving chance for the committee to step down and relinquishing control of the club to whoever wanted to step in.

Those unlucky few (5) managed to find a nice, new, easily accessible venue back in the centre of Macclesfield, and upon receiving the keys in late January painstakingly worked day and night for a couple of months to lay the foundations for Macctrack's future. When we finally opened our doors to the public on March 30th this year we had an excellent turn out of people, some of whom we'd not seen for many years, all eagre to get back into the hobby.

The club now holds regular meetings, on the same days and time as the old club in The Arsenal, Heapy Street, Macclesfield and have a whole mix of classes from 10th scale touring cars to 18th scale off road buggies with everything in between. For all those buggy drivers out there we have a purpose built set of jumps, kickers and table top all of which come out for each race.

Further to this we even have our own tuck shop providing all with cold drinks and snacks from the fridge or hot cups of tea, coffee and chocolate, soup, burgers, hot dogs and toasties.

Race fee's for the club are £5 for club members and £6 for non members, membership for the year is £25 and we can also arrange BRCA membership for all for £12 each as well.
