Pharmaceutical Big-Wigs Announced More Cuts

Feb 8, 2008

It seems that around 300 more jobs will be cut at the Alderley Park site of AstraZeneca.

Over the next 12 months these cuts will be made across the company's research facilities on their Alderley Edge site - the biggest research and development site the multi-national company owns.

AstraZeneca is a huge local employer - over 7000 Cheshire residents work for them. Last February the company announced they would be axe-ing 4,600 jobs worldwide, and many locals suffered at the hand of this decision.

The reason for so many job cuts is due a fall in global profits for the company.
