22nd January 2012 - Subsidiary League
Almost a full set of fixtures in the MSL this weekend with Broken Cross leading the scoring with a 10-1 victory in Group A against Poynton Village at Mary Dendy Fields. It’s a real learning curve for First Division Village who have already lost by double figures on the same ground to Pack Horse. Broken Cross showed they have strength in depth with no fewer than eight different goal scorers including Liam Hadfield who fired home from 30 yards with the last kick of the game. Sam Williamson and Dave Hancox scored two each with Dan Frost, exciting young midfielder Chris Allen , Jonny Mercer , Gaz Hunt and Tom Moores completing the scoring. Karl Meredith spared Poynton’s blushes with a consolation.
Lee Malkin inspired Pack Horse to a 4-0 victory against Boarhound as he scored a stunning hat trick after Boarhound’s Sean Buck had seen red midway through the first half. Pack Horse are difficult enough to play with eleven but with ten it’s even harder and substitute Lee McIntyre came on as a second half substitute to close the game out with Pack Horse’s fourth of the game .
Inter Macc secured what turned out to be a comfortable 3-0 away victory against Prestbury despite missing a first half penalty. Rick Pulvertaft and Eddie Roberts with a brace secured the points at Bonis Hall Lane.
In Group C Albion trailed 3-0 at home to Poynton Legion but fought back to 3-2 at half time thanks to goals from their man of the match Sean Wilkinson and Adam Harrrison.. Legion proved the stronger in the second half and extended their lead by two as they eventually ran out 5-2 winners. Luke Williams and Matt Allen both scored twice with Ash Dudley completing the scoring.
In Group D Nags Head player / manager bemoaned his sides lack of sharpness in front of goal as the went down 2-0 at home to Queens. Despite losing Jake McGarry to a red card early in the game the visitors played the better football and an Ash Hunt penalty and an Ed Haslam strike gave them a two goal advantage before half time , a lead they held onto to take all three points.
