Boarhound took pole position in the race for the title as beat rivals Club AZ 2-1 at Mulberry Sports . Chris Holland’s penalty, awarded after a foul on Gareth Gibbons wasn’t enough for AZ to secure a vital three points as Andy Foote scored twice to give Boarhound all three points.
Old Alts suffered at home to High Lane as the visitors won 7-0 in a one sided match in preparation for the League Cup Final against Cheadle Hulme next Wednesday at Woodley Sports FC. Dave Wilde helped himself to a hat-trick with further goals from James Williamson , Adam Jarrad , Jake Getcheffsky and manager Tony Mitchells’ son George Mitchell.
Cheadle Hulme also looked strong after a 4-3 victory away at Wilmslow Sports who played their final game in what has been a disappointing season by their standards. First half goals from Ste Brotherton, Mike Hooley and Rob Jones gave Cheadle a 3-1 half time lead but Wilmslow came back in the second half with Wayne Lord scoring twice .
At Bollington Recreation Ground , Josh Bates scored the only goal of the game late in the second half after good work from Paul Garner in a 1-0 win for Poynton Nomads against Old Alts East.
