Pack Horse 3 Spinners 1
A tight match at Bollington Rec saw last seasons Premier Division champions ease past newly promoted Spinners who but in a spirited display despite missing five first team players . Terry Costello gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the first half with Nick Ward doubling their advantage in the second half . Stephen Wild pulled a goal back for Spinners but Harry Wheetman secured all three points as he scambled in the third.
m.o.m. Josh Williamson (Spinners)- outstanding at left back
Simon Gibbons (Pack Horse)- tremendous work rate
Macc Boys Seniors 2 Vale 4
A goal in the second minute from Rick Pulvertaft gave Macc Boys the perfect start but they failed to build upon it and had a lesson in finishing from Tom Jackson who scored four times for Vale . Adam Howard ‘s penalty was little consolation for Steve Coppenhall’s side.
m.o.m. Simon Patterson ( Macc Boys Seniors)
Tom Jackson (Vale) – ‘ a lesson in finishing’
Oxfford 2 Queens 5
A three goal salvo in the second half from Ryan Foster put paid to Oxfford’s chances of salvaging a point from this game after they went in at the interval 2-2. Lee Johnson opening the scoring for the home side with Dave Billington adding a second . Foster finished the game having bagged four with captain Tom Wild adding a fifth.
m.o.m. Ryan Foster (Queens ) powerful display upfront
Boarhound 4 Plough 1
Newly promoted Plough found it tough against Boarhound at Victoria Park going down 4-1 with centre half turned striker Matt Delargy scoring twice . Fellow strike partner Dec Fletcher and Chris Wilson completed the scoring but man of the match went to centre half Sean Buck for a solid defensive display. Roy Rostrum pulled a goal back late on for the visitors.
Prestbury Club 3 AC Bollan 4
Notoriously slow starters AC Bollan kicked off the season with a narrow 4-3 win over Prestbury Club at Bonis Hall Lane .
The blustery conditions made life difficult for both teams but it was Bollan who struck first, as debutant Chris Allen poked the ball home from a couple of yards out after Dave Jones had flicked on a John Williams throw in. Prestbury’s Lewis Peers equalised from a corner after a mix up between Bollan keeper Darren Scollins and Tom Connor and then added a second to give the home side a slender lead. Back came Bollan , Mark Cunliffe drilling home to make it 2-2, and just before half time new signing from Tytherington Juniors , Lee McIntyre latched onto a through ball from Dave Bradford to finish emphatically and restore Bollan’s one goal advantage.
Prestbury piled on the pressure in the second half hitting the woodwork. They tied the game with ten minutes remaining when Craig Scott headed home an in swinging corner but there was more drama to follow as Lee McIntyre grabbed the winner for the visitors in a frantic finale.
m.o.m Lee McIntyre ( AC Bollan) –‘ instinctive finishing’

Fox and Grapes 4 Tytherington Juniors 2
 |
| Lewis Evans (Tythy Juniors) shields the ball from Ben Heathcote |
New boys Fox and Grapes secured all three points in their debut game in the MSL despite trailing to an early strike from Juniors John Geoghegan .Michael Luckman , Josh Lee and Ryan Skerratt with two all made the score sheet to give the home team a three goal advantage before Lewis Evans gave the visitors a glimmer of hope late on with as he made it 4-2.
Broken Cross 7 Poynton Legion 1
Jonny Mercer broke Legion’s resolve as he scored five times for Broken Cross including a first half hat-trick. Trailing 5-1 at the break the Legion could have capitulated in the second half but all credit to them they continued to battle away and frustrate the home side’s play. Tom Moores and Neil Smith made it five by half time but Matt Roylance deserves credit for a well taken break away goal for Legion which actually tied the game at 1-1 .
m.o.m: Jim Austin (Broken Cross) - a fine debut at left back

| Jonny Mercer (green) evades Adam Rimmer to complete his hat-trick |
Nags Head 6 Chilli Banana 5
You couldn’t take your eyes of this game for a second as Nags raced into a 4-1 lead only to be pegged back to 4-4 by a battling Chilli side . Defensive displays like this cost Nags a tilt at the title last season as they leaked goals at the back but this season might be different with striker Lee Anderson looking in fine form and new signing from the Boarhound Gareth Gibbons adding his considerable experience to the team they should find the net more times than their opponents during the coming campaign. Anderson opened his account with a hat-trick including one from the penalty spot ( a second penalty was saved in the second half by Chilli keeper Nathan Taylor) ,but he was joined on the score sheet by Craig Millward, Anthony Byrne and Craig Poyser
Apart from the disappointment of defeat Chilli can be buoyed by this display. Jason Hanaghan hit a superb hat-trick with Mark Birchenough and Jonny Leigh weighing in with one a piece. They certainly look a stronger force and should finish better than last season.

| Lee Anderson (hoops) battles for possesion with Chilli's Simon Mason |
m.o.m Lee Anderson (Nags Head)
Jason Hanaghan (Chilli Banana)
Sporting Weston 3 Athletico Bruce 4
An extraordinary game at Clarke Lane which saw Ash Ault scoring a hat- trick of penalties in a four goal haul for the visitors Athletico Bruce. Adam Docherty also scored from the spot for Sporting Weston with Danny Roberts and Sam Fraser completing the scoring for Sporting but they must be left wondering how on earth they managed to concede from the penalty spot four times in the same match.
Poynton Village 5 Lord Byron 1
Poynton proved too strong for new boys Lord Byron as they ran out easy 5-1 winners at Poynton Sports Club. Andy Buckley opened the scoring for the home side with Rick Cash , Silvan Pesotte and Bobby Cash with two all finding the net. Josh Lewis added a consolation for Byron
FC Bruce 0 Railway View 7
Potential title contenders Railway View were in an uncompromising mood at Back Lane as they smashed seven past new boys FC Bruce . Manager Ian Armitt has made some useful additions to his squad with Dave Barratt and Oli Brazier both signed from Albion Rovers getting two a piece, Jermaine Leveridge signed from Blueberry also scoring twice and Danny Hayes signed from the Boarhound adding a seventh. Railway are going to be a difficult side to beat this season.
