| Lindsey Greensmith excited about her challenge |
In September this year beauty therapist Lindsey Greensmith will embark on the journey of a lifetime as she travels to the Far East to undertake a 100km walk along the Great Wall of China to raise much needed funds for Parkinson’s UK .
Having never travelled alone or taken part in such a challenge before, Lindsey is naturally nervous about taking a step into the unknown but she knows better than most why the fundraiser is so important working weekly with the Alex Project at Bollington Leisure Centre , treating a group of local people who suffer with Parkinson’s Disease with massage therapy.
The mum of one said ‘ I have the pleasure of working with a wonderful group at the Alex Project and see first hand the struggles they go through on a daily basis. It’s spurred me on to do what I can to help raise money to raise money to fund research into finding a cure . Parkinson’s UK depends on donations and needs all the help it can get –I’m doing it for them and my group in Bollington’

The five day trek from Gubeikou to Simatai takes in some of the toughest terrain along the world famous wall but Lindsey is extremely up beat about her challenge and has been training hard .
She needs to raise £3000 to take part in her adventure but thanks to the generosity of friends , family and well wishers she is already nearly three quarters of the way to reaching her target.
