Boarhound continued their remarkable unbeaten run by retaining the trophy they won last season this time against Curshaws from the Crewe & District League.

| Andy Foote scored four times for Boarhound |
It was an excellent team performance by Maurice Sutton’s side but was ultimately settled by the goal poaching skills of striker and man of the match Andy Foote who scored four of the six goals, three of them coming in the first half.
Boarhound didn’t have it all their own way though and despite taking the lead Curshaws levelled with a thunderous free kick from Craig Malton. Boarhound had to be patient and worked hard for an opening but with Foote in such devastating form it wasn’t long before they took the lead with Foote scoring twice more before the break . His fourth , at the beginning of the second half settled the tie and Foote was brought off for a well deserved rest. Matt Hole made it 4-2 before substitute Dec Fletcher who had tormented the Curshaws defence with his pace since he came on was finally brought to the floor by their keeper who received a second yellow for his troubles and was replaced in goal by his centre half. Fletcher then added insult to injury by making it 5-2 from the penalty spot.

Curshaws then went down to nine with their centre midfielder collapsing in agony with cramp but it didn’t deter them as they made it 5-3 with a goal on the break from Daren Byram with Boarhound caught cold.
Simon Gibbons rounded off the scoring with a spectacular strike and a goal his persistence throughout the game deserved. Dave Barratt hit a delightful cross wide right and Gibbons running in from the left wing volleyed home from ten yards .
