Wednesday 14th April

Juno United            1          Boarhound 6

Boarhound celebrated winning the League Championship in style by scoring three goals in the opening four minutes of this midweek match at William Scholes Playing Fields in Gatley.  The goals came courtesy of Andy Foote (2) and Declan Fletcher (1).
Boarhound's Dec Fletcher scored again for the league champions in a comfortable win against Juno United

It all proved too much for Juno’s player manager, Matt Harwood, when centre back, David Clowes, joined in the fun and nodded home to add a fourth on 13 minutes.  Matt decided to take drastic action putting mid-fielder, Joe Doyle, in nets and his keeper, David Devente, up front.  This certainly achieved some success because it took until 37 minutes before Matty Roberts got Boarhound’s fifth and the score remained 5 – 0 until half time.  Only 3 minutes after the interval, Juno went one better when ex-keeper, Devente, headed home from just inside the six yard box.  Boarhound raised their game but were thwarted again and again by heroic performances from Juno’s twin centre backs, Ciaran Murray and Matt Harwood.  Eventually Boarhound did get a sixth goal through substitute David Short whose fine shot was just too much for Joe Doyle, whose second half performance in goal also deserved a mention.

Saturday 17th  April

High Lane     7      Old Alts  ‘A’   0

This game was switched from High Lane’s Disley Amalgamated Sports Ground  to Crossford Bridge as it was needed for the opening game of the  cricket season but it made absolutely no difference to the scoreline as nine man  High Lane nearly created a cricket score of their own as they hit seven goals past  a shell shocked Old Alts. They did eventually end up with ten players on the pitch but it was little comfort to Alts who trailed 4-0 at the break. On target for High Lane were Jake Getcheffsky with two  and Rob Graydon , Steve Wilson, George Mitchell , Dave Wilde  and Steve Phythian  with one a piece.

Old Alts Youth     0      Juno United    0

What looked like a  promising end to the season for  Juno United has rather petered out after this dull goalless draw away to Old Alts Youth . Although a hard bobbly pitch made any type of decent football difficult both sides did contrive to hit the woodwork but the match ended all square.

Inter Macc     5      Poynton FC      1

A vital win for Inter Macc  which still gives them a  chance of finishing among the front runners but a 5-1 score line  was harsh on the the visitors who,  as always,  battled hard and deservedly scored when Dan Moult converted a penalty early in the second half. Inter were 3-0 up by half time and secured all three points with two goals in the last five minutes.

Inter –League Cup Semi Finals

Wilmslow  Sports    1    Boarhound      3  (a.e.t )

In  a repeat of last seasons final  Boarhound once again got the better of rivals Wilmslow in their semi-final clash at Upcast Lane. Simon Gibbons gave Boarhound the lead only for Dave Kendrick
Dave Kendrick's second half strike took their Inter-league Cup Semi -Final into Extra -Time
to equalise in the second half to take the tie into extra time. Dan Frost and Andy Foote  scored the crucial goals in the second half to keep  Maurice Sutton’s men in line for a historic treble with yet another semi-final coming up this Saturday in the Macc and District FA Saturday Cup against Congleton Vale.

Curshaws   3         Poynton Nomads    0

Curshaws ensured there would be a representative of the Crewe and District League in the Inter-league Cup Final at MMU Alsager as they put paid to Poynton Nomads challenge. It was a disappointing result for Nomads who  had been playing well in recent weeks but simply never got out of first gear against Curshaws who took full advantage .
