Boarhound 3 Vale 2
 |
| Gareth Gibbons tumbles over under the challenge of Dave Eadon |
A welcome victory for Boarhound who welcomed back several key players who were missng from last weekend’s defeat to Macc Boys Seniors. Back into defence came Matty Roberts , with Gareth Gibbons forming a familiar strike partnership with Dec Fletcher up front. Both made a difference with Boarhound dominating possession but unable to carve out any meaningful chances . It was Vale though who took the lead,Dan Mountford’s ball in from the left found Adam Cheetham unmarked in the penalty area and he gratefully swept the ball home. Boarhound equalised early in the second half , Dec Flecher out pacing the Vale defence to poke the ball home and they began to take control. Ben Hamand came on and made an immediate impact with some bone shuddering tackles in midfield and some barnstorming forays upfield . In fact it was Hamand who gave Boarhound the lead smashing the ball high into the net from close range. Boarhound made the game safe when Dave Eadon brought down Gareth Gibbons in the penalty area and referee Colin Leese rightly pointed to the spot . Dec Fletcher took responsibility and smashed the ball down the middle of the goal to make it 3-1. There was still time for another goal though as Adam Cheetham’s speculative effort totally deceived keeper Pete Slack and sailed over his head but it was too little too late for Vale.

Macc Boys Seniors 1 AC Bollan 3
Macc Boys Seniors patchy form continues to baffle …they were quite outstanding in the first quarter of the game against Boarhound but faded badly. Trailing 2-0 at half time to goals from Dave Jones and Andy Davies they conceded again to Davies in the second half with Chris Coppenhall grabbing a consolation.
FIRST DIVISION
Nags Head 6 Blueberry 4
An astonishing match yet again involving Nags who trailed 0-3 and 1-4 before storming back to to win 6-4. It has to be said the wind played a large part in proceedings as twice Blueberry scored from halfway through Lee Barnard and Paul Jomes. Jermaine Leveridge and Ben Atkins were also on target. For Nags it was the usual suspects, Neil Smith weighed in with two from midfield and strikers Poyser and Byrne grabbed one a piece but star billing went to Mark Gee whose brace at the end of the second half secured all three points and kept Nags in second place.
Sporting Kerridge 1 Queens 10
Queens enjoyed a field day at Clarke Lane as they put Sporting to the sword. It was a truly collective effort though with no fewer than eight different goalscorers - Stuart Ainsworth and Dale Gibson both scored twice but also on the scoresheet were Dave Brindle, Tom Wild, Ryan Foster, Scott Wright, Luke Murray and Shaun Foster.
FC Congleton 3 Chester Road Tavern 3
A point each for FC and Chester Road at Back Lane .
Macc Boys Juniors 2 Railway View 2
A result which doesn’t really do either side any favours but was a fair result on the day. Mark Taylor and James Wooten scored for Macc Boys with Mark Wolfenden and Ashley Brown replying for Railway.
Hollins 4 Tythy Juniors 1
A much needed victory for the league leaders against a vastly improved Tythy side. The first half was fairly even, Matt Beswick’s opener cancelled out by Lee McIntyre. Hollins proved stronger in the second half though scoring three times through Jon Browning , Dave Graham and Matt Beswick’s second of the game.
Poynton 3 Poynton Legion 0
Poynton left with the bragging rights after a comfortable home win against their closest rivals.. Legion gifted them an opener putting through their own net but goals in the second half from Leon Eadsforth and Lee Stubbs secured all three points
