Carl McCurrie coolness under pressure was instrumental in Oxfford’s victory as he despatched two penalties past keeper Dom Chell, one in each half and then went on to complete his hat-trick. Pack came from behind to lead 2-1 in the second half thanks to a Dave Hancox penalty and Simon Gibbons’ nineth goal of the season but Dave Billington headed home a pinpoint cross from Dan Frost to tie the game at 2-2 before two goals from McCurrie secured a famous win for Oxford.

Railway View 2 Blueberry 2
A Nick Gosling strike with two minutes to go prevented Railway taking all three points and going level on points with league leaders Hollins who had the weekend off. Jermain Leveridge had given Blueberry the lead with his fourteenth goal of the season but Railway fought back and Rick McGovern making a welcome return to the line up , equalised before half time . In the second half Chris Coxon came off the bench to give the hosts the lead and they should have extended it when Jonny Walker conceded a penalty but goalkeeper Lee Smith saved the twice taken spot kick .
Poynton Legion 6 Chester Road Tavern 3
Legion have hit the jackpot with strikers Simon and Luke Wiliams who continue to score for fun . Having already hit six in a game against Sporting Kerridge , Simon Williams continued his remarkable scoring record adding four more , including two penalties, one in each half.
 |
| Dan Booth - on target for Poynton Legion |
Brother Luke added one himself to make it eight for the season and Dan Booth was also on target for a rampant Legion who led 3-0 inside the first twenty five minutes . Far from being overrun Chester Road got themselves back in the game scoring twice to pull the score back to 3-2 before half time. But the hosts pulled away in the second half to take all three points. Steve Marshall scored twice for Chester Road , once from the penalty spot . Rob Swindells added a third.
Sporting Kerridge 2 Tytherington Juniors 3
Surely it won’ be long before Sporting secure their first points of the season after a much improved performance particularly in the second half against Tythy Juniors. Steve Bellerby notched his seventh goal of the season from the penalty spot and Simon Mason was also on target but goals from John Duigan , Nick Hadfield and Andy Mitchell proved to be decisive for the visitors.
The only down side for Sporting was goalkeeper Steve White being helped off the pitch with what looked like a serious looking injury to his knee.
Nags Head 3 Poynton 2
Nags got revenge for their previous defeat to Poynton on Valentine’s day by reversing the score line and taking all three points at Congleton Road. Goals from Neil Smith, Anthony Byrne and Tim Marshall’s first of the season put the home side 3-1 ahead and despite Leon Eadsforth’s sixteenth goal of the season for Poynton they couldn’t find a third to ensure a point.
