Mary Dendy 4 Poynton Kings 2
Mary Dendy maintained their remarkable home record making it eight league wins out of eight at home this season to go level on points with Boarhound at the top of the table. They made hard work of it though as they were outplayed for large periods of the first half by a confident Poynton Kings side. Much of their play was inspired by stand in skipper Alistair Breed in midfield who was playing his last game for the club before he embarks on a world tour.

| Mary Dendy's Simon Lee slides into the tackle |
He was involved in everything Kings did but it was mistakes in Dendy’s defence that ultimately led to two Kings’s goals in the first half. The first on seven minutes was scrambled home by Jordan Griffiths and the second , which put the visitors back in the lead after a fine equaliser from Matt Morris was ultimately given to Stuart Ainsworth but was considered by many to be an own goal.
Two goals in three minutes ten minutes into the second half changed the game as Dendy took the lead. Firstly Luke Watkin flung himself horizontally to get his head to a Matt Morris cross to make it 2-2 then Leon White sidefooted powerfully into the top corner from eighteen yards to give the home side the lead. Morris got his second and Dendy’s fourth when he was first to react to a lose ball following a floated free kick from Chris Shepherd and Dendy should have added more. New signing Tom Wakefield made an immediate impact when he came on as substitute for Leon White and hit the bar with a great shot and then two minutes from time he rounded the Kings goalkeeper and two defenders to roll the ball into an empty net only to see the ball stop in a puddle on the goal line .
Juno United 3 Club AZ 3
An excellent match at William Scholes playing fields in Gatley between two of the form sides in the division saw both sides take a point a piece in an entertaining game. In a lively opening seventeen year old reserve keeper Jake Lenahan , given a run up front gave Juno the lead inside ten minutes but Omar Lampety equalised with a sublime chip over Rich Lane. Dave Westwood restored Juno’s lead on twenty minutes when he drove home from sixteen yards following a free kick inside AZ’s penalty area.
AZ equalised on sixty five minutes when Jason Blythe scored his third goal of the season scrambling the ball over the line from a corner but Juno took the lead for a third time scoring directly from a corner themselves. In an end to end second half Rick Mottershead grabbed his side a share of the points as he notched his eleventh league goal of the season.
Inter Macc 2 Wilmslow Sports 3
Wilmslow kept the pressure on at the top by condemning Inter Macc to yet another home defeat but it wasn’t all one way traffic and Inter can consider themselves unlucky to come away with nothing from this game. Two spectacular goals from Elliot Bruce and Ryan Owen weren’t enough to see of a resilient Wilmslow side for whom Steve Dootson scored for the third game in a row and his strike partner Chris Nevin added two more.
Old Alts Youth 5 Poynton Nomads 2
Old Alts Youth put Nomads to the sword at Crossford Bridge as they scored five times to go above Nomads in the table and record their fourth league win of the season. Dave Richards scored twice with further goals coming from Alan Littler , James Pickering and leading scorer Tom Masey. For Nomads Alan Hay took his tally to five for the season with both goals.
The games between Boarhound v Poynton and High Lane v Old Alts A were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
