Club AZ showed no mercy against Wilmslow Albion as they scored five times in the first half and capped a fine afternoon’s work with two more late on to run out easy winners 7-0. Craig Scott and Neil O’Brian both scored twice with Omar Lamptey, Joel Hunter and Lee Malkin also on the score sheet.
At Back Lane Congleton Vale saved their best football until the second half as they plundered five goals to defeat Poynton Reserves 6-0. John Banks gave the hosts a 1-0 first half lead before goals from Andy Baker, Tom Jackson, Tom Burgess ,Craig Cabby and Chris Oaks completed the rout.
Boarhound are the only team from the Trade Mark Collections East Cheshire League to make it through to the semi’s as they defeated rivals Wilmslow Sports. Jamie Collins and Matty Roberts gave Boarhound a 2-0 lead before Andy Strickland’s 80th minute goal for the visitors led to a frantic last few minutes.
Poynton Nomads lost 4-2 for the second week in a row but can take heart from their performance overall. Joe Pollard put Athletic in front after only four minutes but Nomads came back , Tom Gaskell heading home a pinpoint cross from Arron Loftus to equalise. The home side had a chance to double their lead five minutes later but Nomads keeper Jack Gaskell pulled off a great save to deny them from the penalty spot. The turning point came with twenty minutes remaining when ex AZ man Si Carsberg scored twice and James Hewitt a third to give Congleton an unassailable lead at 4-1 . Rob Mc Donagh did pull a goal back with a minute remaining but the tie , by this time , was already over.

At Bollington Cross ,Queens battled hard against an experienced Pack Horse team but were up against it as they trailed 2-0 at the break with Lee Malkin and Si Ainsworth both on target. With both sides down to ten it was Queens who looked to catch Pack Horse on the break and they made it count ten minutes into the second half when Lee Berry stormed down the right wing and fired an unstoppable shot past keeper Nick Ward. Their celebrations didn’t last long though as Pack came straight back and from the kick off, Simon Band restored their two goal cushion. Queens battled hard led by captain Tom Wild but Pack Horse , buoyed from their midweek victory over Drum and Monkey in the Champions Cup were in no mood to let this game slip and shut the home side out to win 3-1 .
Drum and Monkey , the current holders of the cup, eventually put paid to a resilient Macc Boys Seniors side at Congleton Road running out 4-1 winners. Trailing to two goals late on in the first half Luke McClintock boosted the home sides hopes when his goal made it 2-1 , but Drum showed their cup pedigree and doubled their goal tally in the second half. On target were Scott McGowan, Steve Boardman with two and Christian Lamon.
