Boarhound    3     AC Bollan    4

Two goals from Jonny Mercer and a fabulous free kick from James Wheeler eventually secured all three points for Bollan but they made hard work of it.  Boarhound dominated the opening minutes and they deservedly took the lead on sixteen minutes when Gareth Gibbons found himself  in acres of space in the penalty area  and  unchallenged , he calmly side footed the ball past Darren Klemencic in the Bollan goal.
Gareth Gibbons scored twice for the Boarhound
Boarhound continued  to press and it was left to Klemencic to keep the score down with an accomplished performance in goal which frustrated the home side. The turning point however came on twenty eight minutes when top scorer Tim Hammond scrambled the ball home for the equaliser. Boarhound’s heads visibly dropped as they allowed Bollan back in the game and two minutes into first half stoppage time Jonny Mercer swept home from close rang as the ball  ran free from a booming throw in from centre half James Flower.
Jonny Mercer scored twice for AC Bollan
Mercer scored again early in the second  half as Bollan began to dominate and James Wheeler added a fourth with fifteen minutes remaining  with a sumptious free kick from the edge of the box. Two goals in the final ten minutes from  Chris Burgess and a Gareth Gibbons penalty gave Bollan a fright but they held on to take the victory.

Pack Horse    6    Albion Rovers    2

A five goal blitz in the first half saw off a brave Albion side who showed plenty of spirit in a physical encounter. Simon Gibbons grabbed a hat-trick with Lee Malkin adding two more . Martin Quigley weighed in with a sixth for Pack who are still the team to beat at the top of the division. For Albion Jamie Collins once again showed his class scoring his fifth goal in two games , Albion’s second came courtesy of an own goal.

Prestbury Club  5     Macc Boys Seniors   2

Prestbury consolidated  third place with a confident display against Macc Boys Seniors  who appear to be struggling for form in 2010.  Ashley Hunt gave the visitors  a first half lead taking advantage of a defensive lapse but Prestbury stormed back with three goals  of their own before the break. Neil O’Brian and John Whitehead finding the net before Craig Scott powered in a header from a set piece. A second half brace from O’Brian made it five for the hosts and a hat-trick for himself but Sam Corlett made the score respectable hitting number two for Macc Boys.

Vale    1     Oxfford     2

Oxfford remain the Pack’s nearest challenges as they notched up another win thanks in part to a goal in each half from Dave Billington. His first owed more to good fortune  as Vale’s keeper failed to clear a back pass leaving him an easy tap in but his second came as a result of a swift counter attack as he used his considerable speed to race clear and fire home. Vale did manage to score  one of their own but Tom Jackson’s penalty came with virtually the last kick of the game.

Hollins    1     Queens      6

Queens showed just what attacking potential they have and blew the title battle wide open  as they ran riot in the second half against top of the table Hollins. Leading 1-0 at the interval thanks to an Ed Haslam strike Queens  switched up a gear in the second period  leaving their opponents wondering what had  hit them. Ryan Foster scored a hat-trick to make it thirteen for the season , Ed Haslam  added a second  to his tally and Luke Murray made it six. For Hollins ,who had several key players  missing it was a bad day at the office and Martin Brunker’s strike offered little consolation for their manager Derek Lownds who was quick to praise a wonderful display by Queens who go second.

Macc Boys Juniors    0     Poynton     2

A goal in each half by Leon Eadsforth rounded off an excellent win for Poynton against a strongly fancied Macc Boys side who slip two places to fourth after this defeat.

Sporting Kerridge    1      Poynton Legion      8

Legion were in triumphant mood after securing their first win of the season by demolishing  local rivals Kerridge in this vital clash at the foot of the table  . To rub salt into the wounds it was two ex Sporting players who scored all the goals with Simon Williams netting  a remarkable six times and brother Luke adding two more. Manager Rick Millward was delighted  for his team after they finally managed to bag a victory after some promising perfomances.

Blueberry    3     Chilli Banana   3

Player  / manager Ben Atkins got his side out of jail scoring in the last minute to secure his Blueberry side got a deserved point in an entertaining game against Chilli Banana on Windmill Street. Alex Rottenbury gave the home side the lead notching his seventh goal of the season but the prolific Mike Meszaros equalised from the penalty spot  to make it 1-1 at half time. Two more goals from Meszaros in the second half , including a second penalty gave Chilli the advantage but Lee Barnard and finally Atkins ensured  both sides went home reasonably happy with a point a piece.

Spinners  5      FC Congleton    1

Referee Arthur Adams took the reigns as Spinners secured their sixth win of the season and move up a place to sixth in the table with several games in hand on the teams above them. In a tight game Spinners had goalkeeper Phil Ravenscroft to thank for keeping a clean sheet as he  pulled off a string of fine saves to deny  FC  Congleton  an opening. Spinners took full advantage and gave their visitors a lesson a lesson in clinical finishing as they went 5-0 up thanks to goals from Dan Hunter, James Day, Dave Lovatt and two from Steve Wild. Congleton didn’t help their cause as they played much of the last quarter with ten men losing their goalkeeper to red card but they did manage to find the net eventally with Ryan Maddock scoring late on from the penalty spot.

Railway  View     5     Chester Road Tavern    3

Plenty  of goals at Victoria Park with Railway’s Mike Harrison scoring a hat-trick to take Ian Armitt’s side up to third and in sight of an immediate return to the top flight after being relegated last season. Anthony Connor and Adam Kirkby completed the scoring with Dan Barker ,Dave Spruce and Rob Swindells all scoring for the visitors.

Nags Head      5    Tythy Juniors   3

A fabulous game of football between two improving sides ended in a narrow  victory for Nags who led three times but were pegged back by some fine finishing from Lee McIntyre , who scored twice and Chris Allen. Craig Poyser finally made the difference as his two goals in the second half, including a penalty  proved too much for John Plant’s side. Also on target for Nags who stay fifth were Neil Smith , Anthony Byrne and  Lee Anderson.
