League Cup
Inter Macc 5 High Lane 1
Inter Macc made it through to the quarter finals of the League Cup after eventually disposing of a resilient High Lane side at Bollington Recreation Ground with three second half goals. The hosts took an early lead but were soon pegged back by Tyler Eiselt’s second goal of the season for the visitors. Spurred on by a man of the match performance by captain Will Perry, Inter took the lead for a second time to give them a slender lead going into half time. High Lane’s fate was sealed in the second half but they certainly made a game of it and kept the Inter back line busy . Elliot Bruce at right back showing particular promise. On the score sheet for the hosts were Steve Turner who made it seven for the season with a brace, new signing Jake McGarry who also scored twice and Will Perry.
Old Alts Youth 2 Poynton Kings 1
All the goals and seemingly all the memorable action in this encounter came within the opening twenty minutes as Old Alts raced into a 2-0 lead inside ten minutes thanks to Paul Rough and a James Pickering penalty but after Andy Wright pulled the scores back to 2-1 straight from the kick off. The remaining seventy minutes was full of endeavour but little else as both sides sparred for an advantage.

Boarhound 6 Old Alts A 0
It was top against bottom at Congleton Road as Boarhound cruised to victory against a luckless Old Alts. Dave Barrett got the league leaders off to a dream start as he chipped the visitors keeper in the opening seconds but despite only having had one victory this season Alts team spirit is good and they buckled down to shut Boarhound out for the rest of the half. Their resilience finally broke when Dave Clowes made it 2-0 early in the second half and the floodgates opened . Dec Fletcher scored twice , taking his tally to 25 in all competitions with Ryan Stewart and substitute Chris Taylor completing the rout.
Mary Dendy 3 Poynton 1
 |
| Poynton's Ewen Mackinnon and Mary Dendy's Chris Shepherd both scored in the first half |
Poynton can consider themselves desperately unlucky not to have got anything from this encounter as they dominated the match particularly in the first half restricting Dendy to one sight of goal in the opening half hour. Dan Moult in goal for Poynton making a fine save from Matty Martin’s low drive. It was Martin involved again barely four minutes later as his long throw resulted in Chris Shepherd bundling the ball over the line . It was a goal the hosts barely deserved but parity was restored before half time as Ewen MacKinnen finished off a delightful counter attacking move down the left heading powerfully home past Rob Tilley.
At half time Dendy manager Paul Cronshaw pulled off the hardworking but ineffectual Matt Stott and replaced him with the pace of young Simon Nicholson, it worked and despite excellent performances from Poyntons’ midfield general MacKinnon and full back Chris Rashleigh eventually Dendy’s pressure told as they scored twice in the last five minutes to steal the game. James Curbishley made it 2-1 and Simon Nicholson capped a fine second half with number three. Handshakes all round after the game but it was scant reward for Poynton who remain second from bottom.
Wilmslow Sports 1 Poynton Nomads 4
The topsy- turvy season continues for Wilmslow but the 1-4 score line was no reflection on the game as it was a closely fought contest right until the final minutes. Alan Hay had given the visitors an early lead but a Steve Dootson effort in the second half levelled the match. James Morris gave Nomads the lead with a superb 25 yard shot before Mark Toomey made it 3-1 after Wilmslow’s keeper failed to hold a Morris header. The icing on the cake for the visitors came when Mark Allman converted a late penalty to seal the victory .
