| Poynton's Dave Berwick |
Hollins go six points clear at the top of the table after comfortably defeating Poynton on a pudding of a pitch at Poynton Sports Club. It was the visitors who coped better in the conditions as the rain scythed down for most of the first half and they took the lead on twelve minutes when Blair Stubbs headed home from a Matt Beswick corner. Seven minutes later Hollins doubled their lead as top scorer Jon Browning made it nine goals in eleven starts poking home from three yards out after pinball in the area . Poynton rarely threatened the Hollins defence and stand –in keeper Martin Brunker had little to do. On the other hand Poynton’s Dan Moult almost single handedly kept the score down, twice preventing the visitors from increasing their lead with fabulous saves.

| Lee Stubbs fires in a cross |
Poynton came into the game more in the second half with Lee Stubbs causing problems down the right but there was no real end product and chances often ground to a halt in the increasingly sticky mud. It came as no surprise that Hollins scored again Blair Stubbs was outstanding in midfield and his link play with Matt Beswick set up substitute Si Clarke to make it 3-0 with ten minutes remaining. Will Tolley added a fourth right on the final whistle and it was no more than the visitors deserved.
