They equalised with the last kick of normal time to make it 6-6 to take the tie into extra time .

The home side could have buckled having seen their advantage wiped out but if anything it made them stronger and their superior fitness began to tell. Ben Hamand headed home his fifth goal of the game to make it 7-6 and then with barely a minute remaining Gareth Gibbons settled the tie with his second to make the final score 8-6 . Scorers for the unlucky visitors were Leon Eadsforth with two Rick Cash , Bobby Cash, Dave Berwick and Danny Faulkner.
At Barnaby Road Cheadle Lions knocked out cup specialists Poynton Workman 4-1 thanks to goals from Aspinall, Garvey, Malkey and Bailey . The visitors led 4-0 , Matt Holbrook’s strike late on being mere consolation for the Workman.
Spinners went through to Round Two with a comfortable 4-0 victory against Premier Division side Vale . They proved it wont be long before they grace the Division alongside their opponents scoring two goals in each half . Vale only had themselves to blame as they lost their discipline in a niggly game and were reduced to ten early in the second half when already trailing 2-0. On target for Spinners who must fancy their chances of going the distance in this seasons competition following this display were , Dave Grindey, Andy Forbes Dave Lovatt and Luke Wild.
Macc Boys Juniors surprised Disley 1st’s as Dean Loftus’s young charges put five past a strong Disley side in their own back yard . James Wootten impressed upfront scoring a hat-trick and drew praise from Disley’s manager with Scott Meszaros scoring the other two as the Juniors ran out 5-3 victors. Mike Ward scored two for the home side with Tom Bridge adding the third.
At Mary Dendy Fields North West Fire’s hopes of progressing through to Round Two were well and truly extinguished by a well drilled Oxfford side who scored five times in the second half .Chris Mason scored three, Jordan Leigh two and their were further goals from Lee Johnson and Elliot Bruce who scored with a fine header. Mike Bridge and Shaun Lloyd-Griffths both found the net for NW Fire. Final score 8-2
A brace from Matt McBride and a goal each from Peter Danford and Shaun Creeves secured Vale Hoppers path through to Round two at the expense of D&C Athletic who only came to life once the tie was out of their reach at 4-0 scoring twice through Nick Hulme and Alem Eyong. Finasl score 2-4 .
At Victoria Park referee Paul Heathcote was kept busy as tempers frayed between Albion Rovers and FC Congleton . Albion scored four times to book their passage through to the next round but it was a close game marred by ill discipline. Ben Brazier , Ollie Brazier , Dave Barratt and Jamie Collins all scored for Albion with Dan Smith and striker Chris Bann scoring for the visitors.
