Wilmslow Sports   1   Boarhound   1

The top two teams in the ECL met at Jim Evison Fields and the result, a 1-1 draw was no surprise. After pipping Wilmslow to the title on goal difference last season Wilmslow were in no mood to be charitable. Andy Hume gave the home side the lead volleying in from a corner  but Boarhound equalised with ten minutes to go , Dec Fletcher hitting his tenth league goal of the season.

Poynton Kings   3    Inter Macc    2

A fast improving Poynton Kings moved up to third , level on points with Wilmslow after a comfortable win at home to Inter Macc. They led 3-0 with goals from Ali Breed , Stuart Ainsworth and Jack Butterworth before Inter Macc finally got back in the game with two goals of their own , both coming from the most experienced players in the squad , Ray Warburton grapping his seventh of the season and Steve Turner  his fourth in all competitions.

Mary Dendy    3       Juno United   0

Mary Dendy moved up to fourth after a welcome return to form at Great Warford.  Juno , without six first team regulars matched Dendy in the first half hour but centre half Chris Shepherd finally broke the deadlock on thirty three minutes heading home from a well worked short corner

. Dendy had chances to increase their lead  with Simon Nicolson and Matty Morris wasting the best of them  both were  guilty of taking too much time in front of goal  giving Juno keeper Rich Lane  time to recover and make a save. Dendy finally got their reward with two goals in the final ten minutes . Andy Currie swept a Chris Coppenhall cross in to make it 2-0 and then Coppenhall himself ghosted in at the far post to tap home Simon Lee’s cross shot to seal the match.

Club AZ     7    Old Alts     2

Twenty goals in two matches speaks volumes for the changes that have gone on at Club AZ . Matt Finnerty’s team are simply irresitable at the moment and cannot stop scoring. Despite goals from Adam Officer and Dean Mazzitelli’s first of the season for Old Alts , Club AZ scored seven of their own

. Jon Blackburn scored a hat-trick , Rick Mottershead scored twice to make it eight for the season and there were further goals from Paul Bethal and Dave Hancox.

Old Alts Youth    1     High Lane   2

A welcome three points for High Lane which takes them above Inter Macc and keeps then in touch with the clubs in the top half of the division . Victory was secured at Crossford Bridge  with  two  goals from inform  48 year old striker Tony Graydon who scored a stunning goal against Mary Dendy early in the season. Andy Masey scored for Old Alts Youth who appear to be struggling this season.
