Mary Dendy 3 Boarhound 7
The top two teams in the ECL fought it out in the game of the day at Mary Dendy fields with Boarhound winning the game with ease thanks to an explosive first half where they scored five times and missed a host of chances despite trailing to a Nick Brunker goal after only three minutes.
An Andy Foote free kick got Boarhound level and four minutes later Simon Gibbons put them ahead as he rose at the far post to powerfully head home a Jamie Collins corner. Three goals in ten minutes before the break shattered Dendy as each time they needlessly conceded possession in Boarhound’s half to give away a goal

| Andy Foote scored twice for Boarhound |
. Andy Foote tapped home his second and Boarhound’s third on thirty four minutes before Dec Fletcher scored two almost identical goals , bursting clear on half way to race clear of the Dendy defence and slot the ball home. Manager Paul Cronshaw made changes at half time bringing on Liam Ward and Chris Hadfield and they steadied the ship with Martin Brunker scoring twice for the home team but they’d given themselves a mountain to climb and with Dec Fletcher in unforgiving mood there was only one team going through. Fletcher himself equalled Brunker’s tally of two goals in the half but it was four in total for the game and eleven for the season in all competitions so far.
Poynton Nomads 5 Club AZ Res 3
Fresh from their first win of the season Nomads progressed into the Second Round overcoming a tough tackling AZ side still without a win. Tormentor in chief was striker and joint player manager Tom Gaskell who scored four times , twice in each half .He was singled out for special treatment by an AZ defender, a moment of madness which ultimately cost the visitors the game after they had come back from 3-1 to tie the game at 3-3 thanks to goals from Paul Bethal, Jason Blythe and Dave Hancox.
With three of Nomads first choice defenders unavailable , the makeshift line up of Aaron Loftus, John McCartney, James Bailey and John Cairns stepped up to the mark but it was Josh Bates who impressed alongside Gaskell and as he made the score sheet too.
Poynton Res (Cheshire League) 5 Old Alts 0
A five goal blitz in the first half saw Poynton Reserves ease through to the Second Round , withChris Connors , Mike Siddall and former AZ star Jake McGarry helping himself to a hat-trick . Manager Dave Tunnicliffe had the luxury of switching his team around in the second half but the score remained at five despite Alts fighting back.
Wilmslow Albion 4 High Lane 2
Wilmslow had the edge over High Lane in an exciting cup tie. With the game delicately poised at 1-1 Albion established a two goal lead early in the second half which was one hurdle too many for the visitors , despite pulling the game back at 3-2. Tom Curle , Justin Nixon and Anthony Hargreaves all drew praise from the Wilmslow management but the goalscorers were Chris George, Demiloa Oyetan with a brace and Hargreaves himself. For High Lane Jake Getchevsky and Clarence Samba were both on target.

Old Alts Youth 1 Wilmslow Sports 7
Having put seven past Mary Dendy last week , Wilmslow’s rich vein of form continues as they climb up to fourth after scoring once again , this time away from home at Crossford Bridge. The game was won in the first half with the visitors coming from behind to score six times before the break. The second half became a mere formality with Wilmslow only adding one solitary goal to their impressive tally. On the score sheet were Bobby Fletcher and John O’Brian who both scored twice, Anthony Mape , Scott Bradley and Kris Matuszczak.
Poynton Kings 5 Poynton 0
Kings climb up to second after comfortably defeating Poynton at Woodford Recreation Ground. It’s the best start to a season for some years from Kings and they must fancy their chances at winning some silverwear come the end of the season. Dave Brindle with two, Kieron Nolan, Andrew Wright and Jamie Hough were all on target.
