Last seasons semi-finalists Macc Boys Seniors progressed with ease into the second round after scoring six against Division One side Tythy Juniors. Having lost Dan Avery last week with a broken ankle the home side found themselves up against a rejuvenated Macc Boys side in fine form. Chris Coppenhall scored twice and was joined on the score sheet by Gareth Hunt, Chris Adams, Darren Adams and Eddie Roberts. Tythy’s goals came from Nick Hadfield and Lewis Peterson.
Oxfford 2 Vale 3
It was an early exit for cup specialists the Oxfford despite a brace from Jack Jones. Vale proved too strong after goals from Adam Cheetham, Osbourne Hull and Dan Mountford sent them through.
FC Congleton 2 Chester Road Tavern 1 a.e.t.
Chester Road can consider themselves rather unfortunate to be out this seasons’ competition. They led until the 89th minute when a lack of concentration let in Mark Heath to score the equaliser and take the tie into extra time . An Alex Heller strike in extra time sending FC Congleton through to Round Two.
Macc Boys Juniors 3 Railway View 1
Macc Boys unbeaten run continues this time at home to Railway View in one of the three all –first division ties. Alex Tomlinson and Dave Short have now scored eleven goals between them in all competitions – not a bad return particularly from Tomlinson who is normally a midfield player but was playing centre half and Short who scored from the penalty spot. Ian Potts caused problems all afternoon for Railway and made it 2-1 but when Macc Boys scored a third in the second half it really was game over . The third goal scored by Chris Smallman.
Brewers 0 Spinners 1

Dave Williams shrugged off a twenty four hour sickness bug to scorer an 85th minute winner in a predictably tight game at Bollington Rec. There was plenty of endeavour in the first half with some robust challenges but no goals . In the second half with Spinners gradually gaining control and Brewers keeper Dom Chell making several fine saves it was eventually left to Williams to break the deadlock and send the visitors bench dancing with delight.

AC Bollan 5 Boarhound 1
Perhaps Boarhound were still suffering a hangover from last weekend’s heavy defeat to Pack horse but they proved no match for Bollan as Tim Hammond , with two and Andy Davies made it 3-0 by halftime. Further goals from Andy Davies and Simon Bush with his first of the season made it 5-0 before Boarhound’s substitute Steve Archer fired home from the edge of the area to grap a consolation for the visitors.
Sporting Kerridge 4 Nags Head 7 a.e.t.
A fantastic cup tie ended in heartbreak for Kerridge as they conceded three times in extra time to go out of the cup. There were hat-tricks and penalties on both sides with Steve Bellerby grabbing three for Sporting including one from the penalty spot and Lee Anderson mirroring Bellerby with three for Nags including the all important seventh to finally seal their progression through to the Second Round. Making up the magnificent seven for Nags were Anthony Byrne with two , Craig Poyser and Matt Booth with his first ever goal in the Sunday league. For Kerridge Dave Findlow hit their fourth.
