AC Bollan 4 Boarhound 5
The last time these two teams met was in last seasons League Cup semi-final which saw Boarhound, then of the First Division , make the final in a thrilling match at Mary Dendy Fields. This match was equally as entertaining with Boarhound once again just edging their opponents by the odd goal in nine. Not that it was needed but in the close season Boarhound had added the fire power and experience of Gareth Gibbons upfront to accompany fifty goal Dec Fletcher and with three goals between them in this match the partnership looks promising already. AC Bollan on the other hand were far from happy with their performance. Four times they took the lead and four times they let it slip before adding insult to injury Boarhound added a fifth to seal the game. On the plus side Andy Davies hit a brace and Jonny Mercer scored from the penalty spot with Steve Bull adding a fourth but it was defeats like this early last season that ultimately cost AC a chance at challenging Pack Horse for the league title so this result is a real hammer blow so early in this seasons campaign. Boarhound however , will look forward to their next fixture knowing they can mix it with the best in the division . The visitors goals came from Gareth Gibbons with two, Matt Roberts , Ben Hamand and Dec Fletcher.
Prestbury Club 3 Oxfford 5
Oxfford take over from Prestbury at the top of the Premier league after a strong second half display which saw them out score their opponents three goals to one . The first half was even with Prestbury twice coming from behind following set pieces . Chris Connors headed home a corner to cancel out Jack Jones’s opener then Neil O’Brian scored direct from a corner after Jordan Lee had given Oxfford the lead for a second time. Substitute Carl McCurrie did the damage in the second half as he came off the bench to score twice , once from the penalty spot as Prestbury struggled to cope with Oxfford’s pacy attack. Dave Billington secured all three points with a fifth before debutant Emlyn Quartey added a third for the hosts.
Vale 2 Albion Rovers 0
Albion Rovers first game in the Premier Division proved a disappointment as they lost to a strong Vale side at Back Lane. Tom Jackson and Tom Burgess both on the scoresheet.

Blueberry 5 Poynton 4
A fantastic game for the spectators with Blueberry racing into a 3-0 lead inside twenty minutes with goals from Alex Rottenbury , James Slater and one from Nick Gosling only to see their lead almost wiped out in a frantic seventy seconds on the half hour that saw the visitors score two goals of their own through Rick Cash including one from the penalty spot. Leon Eadsforth made it 3-3 early in the second half as Poynton began to dominate but Pete Eccles made it 4-3 on sixty five minutes as he was left to cut inside unchallenged and he unleashed a powerful drive which in fairness Poynton’s keeper ought to have saved.

Five minutes later Rick Cash headed home from six yards to complete his hat-trick and make it 4-4 but the action still wasn’t over . Leon Eadsforth forced a brilliant save from Blueberry keeper Lee Smith with minutes remaining before substitute Ben Atkins broke through the Poynton defence to fire home the winner in the final minute .
Hollins 1 Chilli Banana 2
Chilli secured their first points of the season with a well deserved victory against Hollins who rued their luck as they lost two players to injury. Scott Sanders got the visitors off to a great start with a goal on eighteen minutes but John Browning equalised before half time latching onto a through ball from Ali Heathcote to slide the ball home. The game was sealed mid way through the second half as Jack Sephton headed home at the far post after Dave Gay throw in had bounced over Hollins goalkeeper.
Macc Boys Juniors 3 Poynton Legion 1
Macc Boys Juniors went three points clear at the top of the table after this victory and Legion were left equal bottom, nine points behind them, but they surely won’t stay there for long as they pushed Macc Boys all the way, particularly in the second half. The hosts had the better of the opening forty five taking a two goal lead through Alex Tomlinson and Callum Loftus but a goal from Adam Rigby fired the visitors comeback.Unfortunately they couldn’t capitalise on their possession and a David Short goal early in the second secured the points.
Nags Head 3 FC Congleton 2
Its two wins out of two for Nags Head after Lee Anderson hit a second half winner against FC Congleton and they now go third level with the Blueberry on six points. Craig Poyser scored twice whilst Dan Smith and Mark Heath were both on target for the visitors.
Queens 0 Chester Road Tavern 0
Not a common score-line in the MSL but Queens came closest to breaking the deadlock as a late effort from centre half Dave Brindle hit the bar.
Railway View 4 Tythy Juniors 1
A comfortable enough victory for Ian Armitt’s team as they scored four unanswered goals before Tom Clayton grabbed a consolation five minutes from time. New signing from Albion Rovers , Ian Potts scored twice with Jason Hannigan and Josh Njie hitting one each Njie’s strike his first ever goal in Sunday League football.
Sporting Kerridge 2 Spinners 2
Spinners had a shock at Clarke Lane as they came up against a determined Sporting team who at the start of play were bottom of the table. Possibly guilty of underestimating their opponents Spinners had Steve Wild to thank as he scored both goal . On the other hand it’s an encouraging result for Sporting who can look forward with optimism to the rest of the season. Dave Findlow and Steven Bellerby both on target.
