Round up of this weekend’s games
League- 2nd May
Poynton Kings 1 Boarhound 5
Boarhounds’s assault on the title continued at Woodford Recreation Ground as they put five past Kings who will be glad to see out their remaining fixtures of what has been a very disappointing season. On target for Boarhound were Ryan Stewart with two, Jamie Collins, Dan Frost and goalkeeper Gaz Hughes whose consistent performances all season were rewarded as he was given penalty taking duties- he duly obliged from the spot.
Wilmslow Sports 5 Old Alts Youth 2
Wilmslow will be hoping that Alts do them a favour by halting Boarhound’s surge when they meet at Crossford Bridge on Tuesday. Anything short of a win tomorrow will mean Wilmslow are crowned ECL champions. Known affectionately as the ‘Flying China man’ by his team matesDave Kendrick was man of the match bossing the game and scoring twice. Jonny Devine also got two with top scorer Tom Gill adding a fifth. For Alts player of the season Tom Masey scored two in reply for the visitors.

Old Alts 2 High Lane 2
Kevin Austin gave Alts a slender 1-0 half time lead from the penalty spot but back came High Lane in the second half. Tony Graydon equalised before the prolific Marc Lilleyman put the visitors 2-1 ahead. Jonathan McCauley gave Alts a share of the points with a deserved equaliser.
Old Alts Vets 4 Mary Dendy 0
It ended in a comfortable enough victory for the Vets but in truth had Dendy not wasted some guilt edged chances early in the first half the scoreline would have been somewhat different . The Vets now have an excellent mix of youthful flair and experienced older heads in their team ..and it works a treat!!
One such player is Matt Roberts who opened the scoring on twenty five minutes following a pin point cross from Andy Graham. On seventy minutes it was 2-0 Danny Mc Donald hitting a bobbling ball from the edge of the penalty area into the ground and past keeper Jamie Gibson. Matt Roberts scored his second with nine minutes remaining before Rory Fallon rounded off the Vets season with a fourth with a stunning individual strike.
