Packhorse    3    Railway  View   2

Packhorse manager  Matt Towns was delighted after his tactic to switch swashbuckling 6’3’ midfielder  Nick Stone  upfront late on to bolster his flagging  attack paid off as Stone hit the winner barely twenty seconds from the end of the game . Packhorse were comfortable at 2-0 , Harry Wheatman and  Martin Quigley both on target but comeback kings the Railway  pulled the game round at 2-2  before Towns’ masterstroke finally paid off. With Brewers on Cup duty Packhorse go back to the top of the table on goal difference.

AC Bollan   5     Blueberry    3

AC Bollan will always score goals ….however similar to Kevin  Keegan’s Newcastle  United team,, they also have an uncanny habit of conceding plenty too. This time is didn’t matter  as  Blueberry , game as they are ,  weren’t quite good enough , but it is definitely  causing Bollan’s  manager a real headache . Tim Hammond and Andy Davies both scored twice  with Dave Bradford adding a fifth . For Blueberry, Pete Eccles , Luke Wild and Ray White were all on target making it six goals each in the league.

Bollan’s seventh win of the season sees them go within three points of fourth place Three Crowns .

Albion Rovers    2    Tytherington Jnrs   0

It was definitely a case of ‘after the lord mayors show’ for Albion as a goal in each half  decided the points but the game was  a drap,  dull affair . Lee Goodchild and   Neil Smith on target for the league  leaders.

Boarhound    8  Poynton   0

Boarhound did their goal difference no harm at all as they simply blew Poynton away on Windmill Street.Manager Dave Hulme must be delighted how his team reacted to defeat last week as his players , if anything seemed sharper . Man of the match Craig Hulme scored a hatrick as did Wayne Riley with Craig Hayes  and Ben Hamand adding one each.

Chain & Gate   3    Unicorn     5

At the bottom of the table, still no win for Chain & Gate..but it was a close run thing and they scored three goals in a game for the first time this season. Sean Wilkinson and Ben Heathcote got them off to a dream start as they led 2-0 but back came Unicorn to level the game by half time. Unicorn made it 3-2 but back came Chain , Jay Simms making it 3-3. Two late goals sealed the points for Unicorn to make it their third win of the season.

Macc Boys Juniors   2   Sporting Kerridge    1

Callum Loftus of Macc Boys Jnrs

A disappointing result for Sporting who must have thought they’d do better against their younger , less experienced opponents and the result sees them drop a place below them. On the other hand , Juniors manager Dean Loftus was delighted as his two lads Callum and Aaron engineered the victory.  Neil Woodward and Keiron Shenton scored for Macc Boys whilst Simon Mason was on target for the visitors.
