Inter- League Cup Quarter Finals
Juno United 4 Curshaws 3 ( a.e.t )
Juno United produced the performance of the round as they defeated highly fancied Curshaws in extra time at Sandringham Road.
The visitors led 1-0 at the break with both sides creating chances but it was the second half when the flood gates opened. United substitute Steve Jenkins equalised on fifty five minutes , rolling the ball into an empty net but Curshaws regained a slender advantage following a fine solo effort from Steve Watkin. Sam Woodward equalised barely two minutes later from close range to make 2-2 before an unstoppable shot from Steve Jenkins flew into the top corner to put the home side in front for the first time in the match. Curshaws poured forward in search of an equaliser and the pressure finally told as Simon Ratcliffe made it 3—3 with six minutes remaining to take the tie into extra time.
Juno stole possession straight from the re-start and Darren Wilson, sent clear by man of the match Steve Jenkins calmly slotted past the oncoming goalkeeper from the edge of the area to make it 4-3 . After that it was backs to the wall for Juno as they struggled to get out of their own half but it was just enough as Curshaws simply couldn’t break them down and find that vital goal that would have taken the tie into a dramatic penalty shoot out.
Lostock Reserves 3 Old Alts Vets 2
Lostock ensured they are the only representatives from the Crewe and District League in the semi-finals after defeating Old Alts Vets . Two goals up at half time ,a Gary Fittes free-kick reduced the arrears but a third goal for the home side killed the tie and Rory Fallon’s late strike wasn’t enough to spark a revival.
Wilmslow Sports 2 Club AZ 1
All the goals came in the first half at Jim Evison Fields as Wilmslow rode their luck to progress in to the last four of the competition . Club AZ were incensed they were not awarded a penalty which could have got them back in the tie but the referee saw nothing untoward and play continued . Tom Gill and Martin Shardlow scored for Wilmslow with Lee Manion replying for Club AZ.
Winnington Avenue Res 0 Boarhound 1
Centre half Dave Clowes scored his first goal of the season five minutes from time to send Boarhound through to the semi-finals in a hard uncompromising tie .

Poynton Kings 3 Poynton 3
Poynton Kings win 4-3 on penalties
Poynton Kings kept their season alive after a dramatic penalty shoot out win against rivals Poynton at Woodford Recreation ground. Twice Kings took the lead but the visitors showed real character equalising twice , both goals coming from the boot of Chris Bell. With time running out, Kings captain Tom Hopkins calmly slotted home a penalty but back came Poynton again and Danny Broadbent equalised with an outrageous bicycle kick to tie the game at 3-3 . With no further goals it went to the dreaded penalties and this time Kings were able to hold their nerve to go through to the quarter finals .
League
Old Alts Youth 4 High Lane 5
An actioned packed game of football at Crossford Bridge saw plenty of incident with the visitors narrowly shading it by the odd goal in nine!!
Marc Lilleyman and Jake Getchevsky both scored twice for High Lane with Dave Wilde adding a fifth. Old Alts goals came from Andy Masey , Steve Trevor and two own goals.
Poynton Nomads 5 Mary Dendy 0
A comfortable win for Nomads which takes then a point clear of Wilmslow at the top of the table although they have played three games more. Dendy were simply no match for them and couldn’t cope with man of the match Liam Grey who scored a magnificent solo goal to make it 2-0 in the first half and had a hand in all the other four!.

| Liam Grey in action for Nomads |
Dendy worked hard but created very little with Matty Morris playing upfront for much of the game on his own. Jack Gaskell saved well from a speculative effort from Ian Grassby but the visitors best chance came on forty minutes when Dan Allman deliberately hauled down Matty Morris just outside the penalty area and Dendy were awarded a free kick. The referee chose not to issue a caution and Martin Brunker blasted the high and wide which summed up the visitors afternoon. Two goals from Callum Loftus and two tap ins for Josh Bates completed a highly satisfactory afternoon’s work for Nomads who had top scorer Tom Gaskell out injured .
