Another trophy for Ardent's cabinet !
2008 has yet again proved to be a major milestone for T.S. Ardent, Bollington & Macclesfield Sea Cadets.
They have been awarded the Peter Gravestock trophy, recognising them as the Best Junior Unit in the North West.
The trophy, an extremely attractive wooden carving of Mother dolphin and child, was presented by Peter s widow, Lt. Cdr. Denise Gravestock, who was the Senior Staff Officer North West until her retirement.
The photograph shows Lt.Cdr. Gravestock presenting the trophy to some of the Junior cadets at Ardent, at a recent parade night.
Petty Officer Valerie Thickett, Officer in Charge Junior Division, said that the award reflected the hard work and dedication of all the staff at Ardent over the years, in helping to make the Junior Division as successful and respected as it is.
The Junior Division caters for cadets from the age of 10 years up to 12 years and meets at the Unit Headquarters at The Wharf, Grimshaw Lane, Bollington on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 pm to 9:00 pm. All contact should be to the Unit on 01625 576336 (answering service available) or to PO Thickett on 01625 560869 or 07764 815871.
