The chance for North West businesses to operate in one of the EU's newest member countries will come under the spotlight next month at a free event being staged by UK Trade and Investment.
Bulgaria - Opportunities for Business Development takes place in Manchester next month but is already taking bookings.
Cumulatively the UK is one of the major foreign investors in Bulgaria - exports were valued at £200m in 2007 with imports worth £223m in the same year.
Even the first nine months of 2008 showed a 30% increase on the equivalent period in 2007, so interest in the March event is expected to be huge.
Clive Drinkwater, Director - North West for UKTI North West, said: "Among the many attractions Bulgaria has for UK businesses, are its decade of sustained high economic growth, access to neighbouring markets, £13 billion EU funds being invested between 2007-2013 and good air links with widely spoken English."
Steve Williams, the British Ambassador to Bulgaria, and Head of UKTI Sofia, Tanya Koicheva, are both due to speak at the seminar and will offer a better understanding of opportunities for North West companies, a powerful assessment of risks and a good awareness of how UKTI can help.
Bulgaria - Opportunities for Business Development is FREE and takes place at Eversheds House, 70 Great Bridgewater Street, Manchester M1 5ES on Thursday, 19 March, from 9am.
Closing date for registration is Thursday 12 March.
