Drivers using the M60 in south Manchester are being advised that slip roads onto the A5103 Princess Parkway are being closed for two weekends over the next few weeks.
The closures are being made to help complete a £6.6m scheme to strengthen the bridges around junction 5. The slip roads provide links southbound towards the M56 and Manchester Airport and northbound into Manchester City Centre.
The first closure will affect the clockwise slip road (westbound) on the weekend beginning Friday, February 13 and the second will be on the anti-clockwise (eastbound) on the weekend beginning Friday, February 27. Both closures will begin at 10pm on the Friday night and end at 5am on the following Monday morning.
The works are weather dependant, and may have to be delayed in the event of poor conditions.
Highways Agency project manager Phil Hardy-Bishop said, "Throughout this scheme we have worked very hard to minimise the inconvenience to drivers at what is one of the busiest junctions along the motorway. The closures and related diversions will be fully signed and publicised."
The scheme is on course to be completed before Easter.
