Tythy Juniors consolidated fifth place after two inspired substitutions in the second half brought them two goals and all three points against Macc Tigers at Congleton Road. After a first half stalement Tythy decided to ring the changes and on came Stewart Robinson and Nick Hadfield  who was making his debut . With Dan Avery the driving force in midfield  for the home side both substitutes duly found the net to break the Tigers resolve .

Poynton ended 2008 on a positive note as they edged out Sporting Kerridge after coming from 2-0 down in the first half. Scott Sanders and a Mark Davies penalty had given the visitors an early lead but Matt Burke , Leo Faulkner and Carl Meredith were all on target for the first time this season to ensure the points.

Albion continued their amazing winning streak with  a nineth league victory in a row against Macc Boys Juniors at Victoria Park. The score was harsh on the Juniors who more than matched Rovers in the first half  and only trailed 1-0 at the interval.  In an honest assessment of the game Rovers manger Steve Walker  picked out defender Nick Dobson and goalkeeper Gaz Hughes for special praise after he saved a second half penalty. At the business end, Gareth Gibbons and Jamie Collins both grabbed hat-tricks  for the league leaders. The promising  Will Perry hit a consolation for the Juniors.

Chain and Gate will be wishing for better fortune in 2009  as they ended 2008 with another heavy defeat, this time conceding thirteen times to a rampant Hollins at Mary Dendy Fields . All credit to Chain though, when many teams might have crumbled they continue to play football with a smile. For Hollins it was important to keep up their goal difference with the three teams above them , Albion Rovers ,Boarhound and Baths all scoring goals for fun and this they manged to do keeping them well in the mix at the halfway mark in the season. Matt Beswick added four to take his tally to nineteen for the season , Gareth Burns and John Browning both hit hat-tricks , David Graham opened his account for the season with two and probably the happiest goalscorer of the afternoon  was player/ manager Derek Lownds who got his first of the season.
