Wendy comments: ‘Although this is a personal award, it has been given in recognition of the work that I have done through Macclesfield College. It therefore also acknowledges the work of others, particularly the staff of the College’s European Centre for Aerospace Training, Kay Lees who is managing our national innovation project, Engineering: girls can do it too, and the members of the Equality and Diversity Committee over a number of years.’
She continues: ‘We have worked hard at Macclesfield College and undertaken various initiatives to promote science and engineering to girls and young women, and will continue to promote this area in our future work.’
